Vicente del Bosque will be in charge of Spain's European title defence at UEFA EURO 2012™ after signing a two-year contract extension following an impressive 2010 FIFA World Cup qualifying campaign.

Perfect ten
Del Bosque succeeded Luis Aragonés after Spain had triumphed at UEFA EURO 2008™ and subsequently guided them to an unblemished path to South Africa, masterminding ten Group 5 wins out of ten. "The board have decided we will continue with him for two more years whatever happens," said Spanish Football Federation president Ángel María Villar Llona. "Del Bosque knows how to take our national team to the highest level. He inherited a brilliant side and he knows how to keep them that way. We are still top of the world rankings." Spain have been drawn in Group H of next summer's FIFA World Cup alongside Switzerland, Honduras and Chile.
