Greece will hope to end a disappointing UEFA EURO 2016 qualifying campaign on a high note in Piraeus on 11 October – and maintain an unbeaten run in competitive home games against a Hungary already assured of at least a play-off place.
• Greece, still without a win or a home goal in Group F, are already guaranteed to finish bottom of the section. Hungary will finish at least third and would qualify automatically should they better the result Romania manage in their final fixture against the Faroe Islands. A draw will also take Hungary through should Romania lose, due to their superior head-to-head record.
Previous meetings
• The sides drew 0-0 in March in the first match of Sergio Markarián's brief spell as Greece coach.
• Greece's record in 18 senior meetings with Hungary is W8 D6 L4. They are unbeaten in six competitive home games against Hungary (W3 D3).
