Liechtenstein will look to build on their last result against Austria as UEFA EURO 2016 Group G brings them face to face with their neighbours for a seventh time.

Previous meetings
• The sides have met on six previous occasions, with Austria winning all six games, but Liechtenstein's results have been gradually improving since they lost 4-0 at home and 7-0 away in their first encounters in EURO '96 qualifying.

• In their most recent competitive matches, Liechtenstein lost 1-0 at home and 2-0 away in 2002 FIFA World Cup qualifying.

• A breakthrough of sorts came in the sides' last meeting, a 2-1 friendly win for Austria in Vaduz on 6 October 2006. Mario Frick scored Liechtenstein's first goal against Austria, but György Garics and Thomas Prager struck late on to earn the visitors victory.

Form guide
• Liechtenstein are having an exceptional campaign, having held Montenegro to a 0-0 draw at home and beaten Moldova 1-0 away in their first four Group G fixtures.

• Liechtenstein have now drawn three of their last four competitive home matches and lost only narrowly to their other neighbours, Switzerland, 2-1 in a friendly game in Vaduz on 10 August 2011.

• Austria are unbeaten in four Group G outings (W3 D1) and five competitive games in total (W4 D1) – which includes victories in both of their most recent competitive away fixtures.

• Liechtenstein midfielder Martin Büchel is in line to make his 50th international appearance.
