• Turkey have won all four of their competitive matches against Kazakhstan, scoring 15 goals in the process and conceding just once. Kazakhstan have yet to survive a half without conceding against Turkey.
• The sides are meeting for the second UEFA European Championship qualifying competition in succession, Turkey winning 3-0 in Istanbul and 2-1 in Kazakhstan last time out.
• Kazakhstan have lost all but one of their meetings with Turkey in UEFA age-group competitions, but can take some heart from the fact that they beat Turkey 2-1 in a UEFA European Under-21 Championship match in Almaty in June 2005.
