Match background
• Cyprus have won all three of their senior encounters with Andorra, scoring six without reply in their two home meetings – the most recent of them a 1-0 friendly win in Larnaca on 11 August 2010.
• Their only previous competitive meetings were in 2002 FIFA World Cup qualifying. Andorra threatened an upset in their first encounter on 2 September 2000; they led 2-1 after 52 minutes, only for Cyprus to reply and win the game with a Michalis Constantinou goal at the death. Cyprus won the return fixture 5-0 on 15 November 2000.
• Current Andorra coach Koldo Alvarez – and indeed long-serving captain Óscar Sonejee – both featured in both of those games.
• The nations' two meetings in UEFA age-limit competitions produced a 5-0 win for Cyprus and a 0-0 draw.
