Igoris Pankratjevas, Lithuania coach
As I expected, it was a tough game. I told my players that the main threat to us came from Estonia's set pieces. Both teams had chances to score but luck was on our side. Our football may not have been beautiful but three points are the most important thing today.
Saulius Mikoliūnas, Lithuania midfielder
I don't feel like a hero; the heroes are the fans that came to support us and the whole team, which gave a lot of effort to make people happy. The fans were the 12th player. I was fortunate today, next time someone else might score. It was a great pass from Deivydas Matulevičius and it wasn't difficult, I only needed to hit the target. We had some chants in the dressing room, but there's no time to celebrate.
Arvydas Novikovas, Lithuania midfielder
We dominated the first half, while in the second there were periods they had the initiative; we were a bit tired. But the most important thing was to win. I grew in confidence from the start and the defenders seemed to fear me. The opponents tried to double me up in the second half, but then I switched to the centre. As for the atmosphere, it was the best I've seen here.
Magnus Pehrsson, Estonia coach
We played too much direct football in the first half. We controlled the tempo after the restart but we failed to create good goalscoring opportunities. I think we deserved an equaliser because we had two good chances in the closing minutes. Lithuania did not surprise us. They are a physical team and they like to play tough football. We were well prepared for that, but it did not help us to take the points.
Ragnar Klavan, Estonia defender
The first half was the harder. We tried to adapt to the pitch and played too safe, playing long balls and trying to put pressure on Lithuanian defence. In the second half, when we got more used to it, we passed more, got our strikers free and created some chances.
The difference was just one goal; this game could have gone either way. Lithuania had a little bit more luck today. They played a really structured game and fought hard. We tried to stay compact and look for our chances.
