Bosnia and Herzegovina are searching for a new coach after Safet Sušić paid the price for a difficult start to UEFA EURO 2016 qualifying.

Sunday's 3-0 loss to Israel in Haifa left the Dragons with two points from four Group B outings, already four points adrift of a top-three spot. After returning home the Bosnia and Herzegovina Football Federation (NFSBiH) held an extraordinary meeting with resulted in Sušić's departure.

It ends a ground-breaking five-year spell in the role. His side were swept aside by Portugal in the UEFA EURO 2012 play-offs but they ended their wait for a maiden major tournament when victory against Lithuania in October 2013, sealed a 2014 FIFA World Cup spot.

They performed modestly in Brazil, but Sušić was nevertheless offered a new two-year deal running to UEFA EURO 2016 on his return. With hope of reaching France receding NFSBiH opted to terminate his contract, however, ending 49 matches in charge.

Bosnia and Herzegovina's next qualifier is in Andorra on 28 March.
