• Liechtenstein and Montenegro have yet to meet in any UEFA competition – men's, women's or futsal – and there have been no encounters between the nations' clubs either.
• Liechtenstein were beaten 8-1 at home by Montenegro's neighbours Bosnia and Herzegovina in their first home qualifier for the 2014 FIFA World Cup, but earned 1-1 draws against Latvia and Slovakia in Vaduz later in the competition.
