San Marino have drawn a blank in both of their previous meetings with Lithuania, but narrow defeats in recent Under-21 fixtures suggest their UEFA EURO 2016 Group E encounter could be a close-run thing.
Match background
• San Marino lost both of their previous games against Lithuania without scoring.
• The sides were paired in 2006 FIFA World Cup qualifying. Algimantas Liubinskas's Lithuania beat Giampaolo Mazza's San Marino 4-0 in the sides' first meeting, in Kaunas on 9 September 2004. Edgaras Jankauskas (18, 50), Tomas Danilevičus (65) and Andrius Gedgaudas (90+2) were all on target.
• The return leg in Serravalle on 17 November the same year was much tighter, Deividas Česnauskis (42) scoring the only goal as Lithuania won 1-0.
• In seven UEFA age-group meetings with Lithuania, San Marino's record is W0 D1 L6. However, four of those wins were by one-goal margins; most recently, Lithuania won 2-1 at home and 1-0 in Serravalle in qualifying for the 2015 UEFA European Under-21 Championship.
