Luboslav Penev has agreed a two-year contract extension that will see him guide Bulgaria through qualifying for UEFA EURO 2016.
Penev assumed the helm in October 2011 and his initial terms were due to expire at the end of 2013. "We are delighted to announce the signing of the new deal and we are looking forward to the UEFA EURO 2016 qualifiers," read a Bulgarian Football Union (BFS) statement.
Bulgaria finished fourth in FIFA World Cup qualifying Group B under Penev, who scored 13 goals in 62 internationals for Bulgaria as a player, featuring at EURO '96 and the 1998 World Cup.
