Odonkor surprise
The 22-year-old Odonkor has never played for his country at senior level, but has shone for the Under-21s and BV Borussia Dortmund. While the midfielder is included, FC Schalke 04 forward Kuranyi will have to content himself with a spot on the standby list. Also involved are fellow U21 stars Thomas Hitzlsperger and Mike Hanke, with Fabian Ernst and Patrick Owomoyela being other notable absentees. Hanke will be suspended for the first two matches.
