Israel kept their momentum going in 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifying Group F with a comfortable win against Luxembourg at the Ramat Gan.

After registering a hat-trick in a 6-0 victory in Luxembourg on Friday, RCD Mallorca striker Tomer Hemed scored two more in the rematch on home soil, with Eden Ben Basat adding his second goal in as many games to give Eli Gutman's side another three points.

The men in blue pushed from the off, and Hemed was on the scoresheet after 14 minutes, controlling Bebras Natcho's long pass and dispatching a left-footed shot into the net from the edge of the box. FC Rubin Kazan midfielder Natcho produced another star turn to lay on the second just before the break, setting up Ben Basat to place an elegant chip over Luxembourg goalkeeper Jonathan Joubert and into the net.

Hemed took his haul to five goals in as many days three minutes into the second half, getting his head to El'ad Gabai's lofted ball from the right. The result leaves Israel five points behind Group F leaders Russia, with Luc Holtz's Luxembourg level with Azerbaijan on one point at the foot of the section.
