Rest ordered
The Valencia CF winger was hurt in last night's UEFA Champions League defeat by Werder Bremen in Germany. Vicente opened the scoring but left the field ten minutes before the end of the 2-1 loss with an injured left ankle. Tests today have confirmed a sprain and the club's medical staff have ordered him to rest for two weeks.
Busy schedule
Spain, who play the Belgians in Santander on 9 October before travelling to take on Lithuania four days later, name their squad tomorrow for the Group 7 matches. Luis Aragonés's team began their campaign with a 1-1 draw in Bosnia-Herzegovina, with Vicente scoring. The 23-year-old will hope to return for Valencia's next Champions League fixture against FC Internazionale Milano on 20 October.
