"As professional footballers we have to have the ability to adapt to different environments, to different formations. And also with age. When I was younger, I was a winger, a pure winger. And now I play as a forward. These positions require different moves, different skills, and a different type of strain. Only when you understand and know your body can you adapt to a high level of demand."

Cristiano Ronaldo, Portugal forward

The series of films dissect decision-making, techniques and mental resilience, making them a valuable resource for coaches and UEFA’s national associations, but also a means to elevate understanding and appreciation for football across all levels of the game.

"Leadership is about how you present yourself, and what you do on the pitch. In addition, you have to lead and make decisions during the match, to make sure the rest of the team keeps going, and you have to do this, and I want to do this by taking responsibility."

Virgil van Dijk, Netherlands defender

“My Game is designed to present a unique perspective and fresh angles on some of the world's top football players," explained UEFA's head of technical education and development Olivier Doglia. "The primary goal is to deliver an in-depth technical analysis of these athletes, showcasing their impressive decision-making abilities, leadership qualities and tactical acumen.

"By highlighting these key attributes, the series aims to provide valuable insights that can be utilised by both players and coaches across all levels of football, from grassroots to elite. These videos serve as an educational tool, offering practical examples and strategies that can be applied to improve performance and understanding of the game."

"We know that the ball is much faster than any player, and that there are many players who are not naturally quick, but they are quick with the ball because of the way they treat it and how they shape their body and by anticipation the different situations of the game."

Rodri, Spain midfielder
