EURO 2024 Fantasy Football: Scout notes for final day of round of 16

From team news to advice on substitutions and captain changes, the daily notes offer a helping hand throughout UEFA EURO 2024 for managers on EURO Fantasy Football, presented by Visit Qatar.

Popular players from a Fantasy perspective such as Virgil van Dijk, Cody Gakpo and Marcel Sabitzer are set to take to the field on Tuesday in the remaining two round of 16 fixtures.

Fantasy decisions

• Tuesday brings the final pair of round of 16 games, with Romania facing Netherlands at 18:00 CET before Austria and Türkiye kick off at 21:00 CET.

• The deadline for Fantasy managers looking to make any final Matchday 4 substitutions, or even to switch their captain, is 18:00 CET, the kick-off time for Romania-Netherlands.

• This represents the final opportunity for Fantasy bosses to change captain in the round of 16, so choose wisely depending on the score of your current skipper.

• The Romania and Netherlands line-ups will be released prior to the deadline, so those with players from either nation can see whether they are starting or not and react accordingly.

ROMANIA VS NETHERLANDS (18:00 CET)

Romania

Predicted starting line-up: Niță; Rațiu, Drăgușin, Burcă, Sorescu; M Marin, R Marin, Stanciu; Man, Mihăilă, Drăguș

Defender Nicușor Bancu is suspended so Deian Sorescu is likely to come in at left-back, while Dennis Man and Valentin Mihăilă are pushing for starting places.

Key Fantasy players

Răzvan Marin (€5.5m) scored against both Ukraine and Slovakia in the group stage and has 17 Fantasy points overall.

Radu Drăgușin (€4.5m) has made more ball recoveries – 16 – than any of his team-mates and has played every minute of Romania's campaign.

Florin Niță (€4.0m) leads the way among €4.0m-priced goalkeepers having returned 13 points, making 13 saves during the group stage.

Netherlands

Predicted starting line-up: Verbruggen; Dumfries, De Vrij, Van Dijk, Aké; Schouten, Simons, Reijnders; Frimpong, Depay, Gakpo

Denzel Dumfries and Jeremie Frimpong could be recalled by Ronald Koeman while Xavi Simons may start in midfield having come off the bench in the first half against Austria on Matchday 3.

Virgil van Dijk (€6.0m) remains the most popular Fantasy player from Netherlands with an ownership of 37%.

Cody Gakpo (€7.5m) scored in two of the three group games, one of those coming from outside the box.

Austria

Ralf Rangnick is likely to select Christoph Baumgartner in what could be a 4-2-3-1 formation with Marcel Sabitzer on the left and Konrad Laimer on the right, although winger Patrick Wimmer is suspended.

Marcel Sabitzer (€6.5m) won the Player of the Match award against Netherlands on Matchday 3, scoring the winning goal and picking up ten Fantasy points.

Türkiye

Having returned from suspension, centre-back Abdülkerim Bardakcı is expected to slot straight back into the Türkiye defence, but Vincenzo Montella is without captain Hakan Çalhanoğlu and defender Samet Akaydin.

Cenk Tosun (€6.0m) scored an added-time winner against Czechia in his first appearance of the tournament and, if selected, could be an enticing differential.
