EURO 2024 Fantasy Football: Limitless squad for Matchday 2

As the opening round of UEFA EURO 2024 draws to a close, managers may be considering using their Limitless chip on Matchday 2 of EURO Fantasy, presented by Visit Qatar.

With that in mind, UEFA.com have put together a suggested squad without budget restraints; Cristiano Ronaldo, Harry Kane and Jamal Musiala are among the most notable names among the 15 players for the second round of group stage fixtures.

GOALKEEPERS

The two goalkeepers selected each enjoyed victories on Matchday 1. Manuel Neuer (€6.0m) is our first choice with Germany facing Hungary in Stuttgart on the opening day of Matchday 2. Julian Nagelsmann's allowed just one attempt on goal in their victory over Scotland and a similar showing would significantly enhance Neuer's chances of keeping a clean sheet.

Should a second goalkeeper be required, the option is there to switch to Jordan Pickford (€5.0m), who is in action on the following day for England against Denmark. Pickford's Matchday 1 clean sheet resulted in six points, and he is still to concede a goal after four games in a EURO group stage.

DEFENDERS

Italy's Federico Dimarco (€5.0m) showed plenty of attacking endeavour against Albania, which bodes well for his Fantasy prospects on Matchday 2, and the same applies to Croatia's Joško Gvardiol (€5.5m), whose side will be desperate for three points against Albania on Wednesday.

Both Theo Hernández (€5.5m) of France and Portugal's João Cancelo (€6.0m) are well known for their attacking abilities, the latter having scored three times in qualifying. With France taking on Netherlands on Friday before Portugal play Türkiye the next day, Hernández and Cancelo each offer significant points potential.

The defence is completed by Switzerland's Manuel Akanji (€5.0m), who recorded 11 ball recoveries and five Fantasy points against Hungary to show his ability to gain returns from multiple avenues.

MIDFIELDERS

After seeing just how impressive Germany were going forward on Matchday 1, a midfield double-up on Matchday 2 with the Limitless chip may prove to be a smart decision. Jamal Musiala (€8.5m) and Florian Wirtz (€7.5m) each scored for the hosts against Scotland, accumulating 12 and ten points respectively with the former named Player of the Match. The ability of Bruno Fernandes (€9.0m) to both score and create goals, and his importance to Portugal, makes him a worthy Limitless selection in midfield.

With Croatia and Belgium each hunting for their first points of the group stage on Matchday 2, it would be no surprise to see both Luka Modrić (€7.5m) and Kevin De Bruyne (€9.5m) put in pivotal performances against Albania and Romania respectively.

FORWARDS

Due to the uncertainty around Kylian Mbappé's Matchday 2 prospects after his broken nose against Austria, Antoine Griezmann (€9.0m) is the preferred choice in the France attack as he may be required in a more advanced role should Mbappé miss out.

Harry Kane (€11.0m) will be seeking his first goal of EURO 2024 on Matchday 2 and has good memories of facing opponents Denmark having scored against them back in the semi-finals of EURO 2020. The Limitless squad is completed by Portugal's Cristiano Ronaldo (€10.0m), the Golden Boot winner at EURO 2020 and the all-time highest goalscorer in the history of the European Championship.
