🌱 Sustainable travel

UEFA EURO 2024 aims to be the greenest EURO of all time!

Stuttgart is located in the southwest state of Baden-Württemberg, with the Black Forest to the west and the Swabian Alb to the south of the city. The city is well connected and sits on long-distance national routes from Hamburg through to Munich.

Play your part in helping to reach the tournament’s sustainability goals by:

✅ Choosing train or long-distance bus travel options over flights
Travelling by train will be the most convenient option to get around. Thanks to our partner Deutsche Bahn, match ticket holders are entitled to discounted national and international train tickets.

Discounted train tickets

✅ Using public transport to go between and within the Host Cities and avoid car travel
Stuttgart ticket holders are entitled to a 36 Hour Travel Pass for the entire VVS (Verkehrs- und Tarifverbund Stuttgart) network at no additional cost! The network covers a vast area beyond Stuttgart's city borders, so you can discover the entire region by public transport.

Avoid driving to Stuttgart during EURO 2024 as there will be large-scale road closures restricting access to the centre, high volume of local and commuter traffic and only a very limited number of pre-booked parking spaces at the stadium.

If you must travel by car, the A8 and A81 motorways are the main routes into Stuttgart, with the A8 connecting east to west and the A81 going north to south. Those travelling by car should consider using one of the 115 Park + Ride facilities in the wider region (link available in German only).
