EURO 2024 Festival

Düsseldorf is ready to welcome residents, visitors and football fans to "Everybody’s Heimspiel” – where the entire city will transform for UEFA EURO 2024, the pinnacle of the year's international football calendar.

Fan Zone Burgplatz will be buzzing with exciting activities, music and top-notch entertainment for the celebrations.

For theatre enthusiasts and culture buffs, don’t miss “Faith. Love. Football”, a play that has been specially commissioned for EURO 2024 taking to the stage at Fan Zone Schauspielhaus, which is located next to the Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus.

If you want to enjoy match action with thousands of fans, head to Public Viewing Rheinufer to watch the live screenings set against the backdrop of Düsseldorf’s skyline. For those taking the scenic route along the Rhine to or from Düsseldorf Arena, there’s a chance to catch a match before or after!

🎉 Fan Zone Burgplatz

Nestled in the very heart of the city, Fan Zone Burgplatz offers a multitude of entertainment highlights for every visitor. A meeting point for football fans, it will also have a stage with great music acts and local artists performing, cultural pieces and interactive activities. The Fan Zone will also screen all EURO 2024 matches, so as anticipation builds, there will be plenty to discover and experience.

The Fan Zone offers a varied programme of TV broadcasts, live broadcasts of all 51 EURO 2024 matches and performances by renowned music acts and local artists. There will also be a comprehensive football programme and the "EURO 2024 Festival eFootball" Festival, which will give local esports teams the chance to compete in an exciting 11vs11 format. On non-matchdays, there is also a varied programme in cooperation with the Fußballverband Niederrhein, among others: Walking football, football for primary school pupils, DFB junior coach, a tournament for young footballers.

Body and bag checks are carried out at the entrance to the Fan Zone.

Does the Fan Zone have a capacity limit?

Fan Zone Burgplatz can accommodate up to 5.000 people. When the capacity has been reached, the entrance to the Fan Zone will be temporarily closed.

Does the Fan Zone have special policies for bags or luggage?

Access controls are conducted through bag and personal checks. Prohibited items include, but are not limited to:

  • Firearms, knives of any kind, as well as any other weapons
  • Saws, axes, hatchets, and dangerous tools or objects
  • Highly flammable items such as deodorant, hairspray, and animal repellent spray
  • Bulky items (such as umbrellas and chairs of any kind)
  • Fireworks, sparklers, and other pyrotechnic items
  • Backpacks, bags, and similar items larger than DIN A4
  • Flag or banner poles longer than one meter and/or with a diameter exceeding ten millimeters
  • Mechanically and electrically operated noise-making devices, musical instruments, and vuvuzelas
  • All glasses, glass, and PET bottles
  • Cups (except those from the catering stands), pitchers, or other containers made of fragile or splintering materials or larger than 0.5 liters, as well as all beverage cans
  • Substances such as alcohol, medication containing mood-altering substances, and drugs

🎉 Fan Zone Schauspielhaus

Thomas Rabsch/Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus

Overlooking the Schauspielhaus (state theatre), one of the most iconic buildings in the city, the Fan Zone will serve as a cultural hotspot for EURO 2024 in Düsseldorf. The extraordinary facade of the Schauspielhaus will be illuminated and brought to life by local artists from the city's culture and music scene. Plus, there will be a high-quality cultural programme, including the unique theatre piece "Faith. Love. Football," produced exclusively by the Schauspielhaus ensemble.

The play will premiere at the end of May and will be performed regularly throughout the tournament.

📺 Public Viewing Rheinufer

The Public Viewing Rheinufer is exceptionally situated with the state parliament, the Rhine Tower and the Rheinknie Bridge as the backdrop to create a unique atmosphere for watching football. You will be able to watch all the Germany matches and those taking place at Düsseldorf Arena. Additional screenings may be announced in the lead-up to the tournament.

🎡 Spectacular

Düsseldorf’s Kö-Bogen II features Europe's largest green facade. Its eight kilometres of hornbeam hedges and over 30.000 plants are part of Düsseldorf’s innovative response to climate change. The Kö-Bogen II will be given a EURO 2024-inspired makeover for the tournament, providing visitors with a magnificent photo opportunity right in the heart of the city on the Dreieckswiese – just a stone’s throw from Fan Zone Schauspielhaus.

In the spirit of sustainability, the installation uses current Düsseldorf landmarks – the Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus, Kö-Bogen II and Dreieckswiese – highlighting the city’s highly decorated architecture as well as its lively squares and compact nature. There will also be a high-quality cultural programme on selected days during the tournament.

Become part of the UEFA campaign, spearheaded by Ruud Gullit and backed by Manuel Neuer, Ana Maria Marković and Gareth Bale, and learn how to save a life! 🦺

Visit the 'Get trained, save lives' booth at Schadowplatz daily from 14:00!

The campaign is a joint initiative from UEFA and the ERC to raise awareness on the topic of sudden cardiac arrest and the importance of bystander CPR.

Take part in the CPR-race or visit the online-module where you will be trained by Erling Haaland and Thierry Henry.

🌱 Sustainability

Düsseldorf will pay great attention to sustainability at Fan Zone Burgplatz, Fan Zone Schauspielhaus and Public Viewing Rheinufer, with waste prevention and recycling a particular priority. There will be a reusable tableware system and free drinking water at both Fan Zones and the Public Viewing.

With intelligent guidance systems and appropriate safety measures in place, numerous fans are expected to follow the Rhein Walk – arguably one of Europe’s most scenic stadium footpaths – to the arena. Rheinbahn will also support the public transport network by providing additional shuttles.
