The hosts of the three UEFA European Women's Under-19 Championship final tournaments between 2014 and 2016 have been announced at today's UEFA Executive Committee meeting in Istanbul.
No strangers to holding major women's tournaments, Norway will stage the event in 2014, followed by first-timers Israel in 2015 and Slovakia in 2016.
Norway co-hosted the 1997 UEFA European Women's Championship and four years later finished runners-up on home turf in the Women's U18 event, the precursor to this competition – this will be their first 'home' UEFA finals since then. Israel hosted their one and only UEFA competition in 2000, the men's UEFA European U16 Championship. Slovakia also staged the 2000 UEFA European U21 Championship and next year will hold the UEFA European U17 Championship finals.
The Football Association of Wales (FAW) was selected as 2013 Women's U19 hosts by the UEFA Executive Committee 18 months ago, the country's first UEFA final tournament.
