Spain cruised to the UEFA European Women's Under-17 Championship in Iceland with three wins and 12 unanswered goals in elite round Group 4.
A 4-0 defeat of Belgium confirmed their qualification and left their opponents hoping to be the runners-up with the best record against the sides first and third in their group when the other five mini-tournaments are completed. Two-time winners and last season's runners-up, Spain can now begin planning for the final tournament from 22 June to 4 July in Iceland.
• Winners: Spain comfortably beat all their opponents in Sochi without conceding. It came down to their last match against Belgium and they marched to a 4-0 success. Maite Oroz scored early after a clever combination following a corner and Natalia Montilla added another with an accurate 37th-minute strike. Two second-half penalties sealed Spain's trip to Iceland.
• Other performances: Belgium started with two victories, yet failed to compete with Spain and must wait to see if they are the best runners-up from the six groups. Romania improved their mood with a 5-2 triumph against hosts Russia.
• Key moment: Oroz's stylish opener for Spain against Belgium.
• Star performer: Oroz was the key midfielder for Spain.

Of course I am satisfied with the results, as the girls are already dreaming about Iceland. We worked very well with these players. Some of them can play even better. It's hard to predict what we can achieve in Iceland, but we'll do our best to go as far as possible.
