García's guide to the Spain squad

Elena De Toro, goalkeeper 
She has been a great source of security for us throughout the tournament despite her inexperience at this level. She gives us a great deal of confidence in defence.

Cristina Portomeñe, goalkeeper 
She's shown great patience in waiting for her opportunity. It's very difficult coming into a squad with such little experience.

Núria Garrote, defender 
She is one of three captains which says a lot about her character. She has played for a long time and is very experienced. She also gives the team a lot of confidence.

Beatriz Beltrán, defender 
She is having a fantastic tournament. She covers a lot of ground, never stops running, and has been a key player for us since coming into the side.

Silvia Mérida, defender 
Silvia is like Rocio and Quedal, very solid. She helped us a lot against Germany by standing up to the physical challenge.

Rocío Gálvez, defender 
Rocío is similar to Silvia and a tireless worker. She does an amazing job and is a great person to have on and off the pitch. She unites the team.

Cintia Montagut, defender 
Like Laura, she has always impressed after coming on as a substitute. It's not easy to make an impact from the bench, but she's done extremely well when called upon.

Queralt Gómez, defender 
She is good on the ball and exceptional at the back. Against Germany, nobody could get past her.

Pilar Garrote, midfielder 
She gives us something different in the centre of midfield and deserved her goal against England. She also works really hard.

Patricia Guijarro, midfielder 
She is the lungs of the team, helping out in different areas of the pitch despite being only 15. She's been fantastic.

Aitana Bonmati, midfielder 
She has been one of the surprises of the tournament. I'm really happy for her because she is a player with a lot of quality.

Laura Ortega, midfielder 
It's been an invaluable experience for her. She has worked really hard and often comes into her own during training.

Maite Oroz, midfielder 
She has lots of potential and I'm sure she will get even better with age.

Nahikari García, forward
I'm a team player. I work hard and do my best.

Mireya García Boa, forward 
She's had an incredible tournament. She offers something in defence and attack – you saw that against England. She's good at doing the dirty work and brings a sense of tranquillity to the team. I've been really impressed.

Andrea Sánchez, forward 
She's the star of the team and plays to an exceptional level. She not only scores all the goals but creates opportunities for others and links the play.

Carmen Menayo, forward 
Every time she plays she does a fantastic job. She is always very calm when coming off the bench and that has a positive effect on the rest of the team.

Laura Domínguez, forward 
She always does what is asked of her when called upon. A steady, reliable player.
