Sweden cruised to their fourth consecutive UEFA European Women's Championship - a 4-0 away win at the expense of Serbia and Montenegro - to put them five points clear of second-placed Italy at the top of Group 1.
Too accomplished
The FIFA Women's World Cup runners-up looked far too accomplished for their opponents, who are yet to win or even score a goal in the tournament so far, and made their superiority apparent as early as the eleventh minute, when Malin Moström broke the deadlock. A good passing display was further rewarded by Hanna Ljungberg doubling the advantage on the half-hour mark and it was 3-0 by half-time after Sara Larsson's 42nd-minute volley.
Eased off
With the result in no doubt, Sweden visibly eased off after the break and struggled to find the motivation to score many more goals. They managed just one - Hanna Marklund finding the net eight minutes from time - and the lacklustre second-half display disappointed Sweden coach Marika Domanski-Lyfors.
'Very static'
"The victory is of course good," she said. "But our movement in the game was not good enough - and if we don't move our game suffers as we can't use our passing game to full effect. Especially in the second half we were very static and that is something we have to think about during the winter."
