Article body
Sweden maintained their perfect record at the top of UEFA European Women's Championship qualifying Group 1 with a 2-0 victory against Switzerland in Solothurn.
Fifth win
The visitors secured their fifth successive win in the section thanks to goals in the second and 90th minutes. In front of 1,300 supporters in Switzerland, Sweden took the lead from an early forward foray, striker Salina Olsson the player on target.
Swedish second
Jost Leuzinger's Swiss team refused to let their heads drop and created a number of opportunities to equalise. With space at a premium against disciplined and hard-working opponents, however, Switzerland were unable to get back into the match and forward Sara Johansson wrapped up the win with Sweden's second goal in the final minute.
Injured players
"If there's a problem on the pitch it is not going to sort itself out," said Sweden coach Marika Domanski Lyfors. "That's something we didn't adhere to in the first half. However, at the moment ten of the players which took part in last year's [FIFA] World Cup are injured. I hope they'll all be back playing as soon as possible."
