Vera Dyatel, Patrizia Panico and Margrét Lára Vidarsdóttir shared the UEFA Women's Cup top scorers' prize this season after Marta and Conny Pohlers were unable to close the gap in today's final second leg in Frankfurt.
Pohlers one short
Umeå IK striker Marta stood two short of the leading trio prior to the return at 1. FFC Frankfurt but could not add to her season's tally of seven goals in their 3-2 defeat. Conny Pohlers' two goals for Frankfurt today, and one in the first leg, left her just short of the leaders on eight, though she did finish top scorer in 1. FFC Turbine Potsdam's 2004/05 triumph.
Djatel feat
Of the leading players, Zhilstroy-1 Karkhiv forward Djatel took just three games to register her total of nine, getting seven in their opening 14-0 defeat of FC Dinamo Tbilisi and adding two more versus FK Napredak Kruševca before the Ukrainian club's first qualifying round exit with defeat by WFC Rossiyanka. Margrét Lára Vidarsdóttir equalled that tally before Valur Reykjavík departed in the second qualifying round, having been outright top scorer two seasons ago, while Patrizia Panico equalled their tallys as ASD CF Bardolino Verona reached the semi-finals.
