Frankfurt, Wolfsburg, Lyon, Barcelona win away

Chelsea 1-2 Wolfsburg
Two-time champions Wolfsburg made the perfect start as Lena Goessling's third-minute free-kick was met by the head of Nilla Fischer and the ball deflected into the net off Chelsea's Claire Rafferty. Wolfsburg continued to have the better of the play against the English double-winners, but early in the second half debutants Chelsea were level when Babett Peter flicked Ji So-Yun's free-kick into her own goal. And Chelsea so nearly led when Fran Kirby shot wide after being set up by Eni Aluko, but Wolfsburg substitute Caroline Graham Hansen made it 2-1 with 12 minutes remaining after a jinking run and strike.

Twente 0-1 Barcelona
A crowd of 15,637 – the highest ever for a women's game in the Netherlands – watched Barcelona move closer to their second quarter-final in this competition. With 14 minutes left Jenni Hermoso combined superbly with Olga García for the only goal. In added time Marta Torrejón's strike was headed off the line as the visitors so nearly doubled their advantage.

Atlético Madrid 1-3 Olympique Lyonnais
Ada Hegerberg set up Louisa Necib for the first goal and then scored at the end of each half as Lyon took control of the tie. Nagore Calderón halved Atletico's arrears, but Hegerberg's added-time second gave Lyon the convincing victory their dominance deserved. It would have been worse for the Spanish outfit, who lost 2-0 at home to Zorkiy in their round of 32 opener before winning 3-0 in Russia, had Dolores Gallardo not made three spectacular saves.

KIF Örebro 1-1 Paris Saint-Germain
Anja Mittag's second-half equaliser not only earned Paris a draw in Sweden – it was also her 49th goal in UEFA women's club competition, taking outright a record she previously shared with Conny Pohlers. Sanna Talonen had given the European debutants, who attracted a club record crowd of nearly 6,000, an early lead against last season's runners-up with a calm finish when one-on-one with Katarzyna Kiedrzynek. However, the Finland striker missed a similar chance just before Mittag's milestone strike for Paris, who in the second half brought on Orebro-raised Lisa Dahlqvist.

LSK Kvinner 0-2 FFC Frankfurt
The Norwegian champions defended diligently but goals either side of half-time by Mandy Islacker and Kerstin Garefrekes ensured the holders put their recent domestic form behind them and took control of the tie.

Brescia 1-0 Fortuna Hjørring 
Brescia registered their third 1-0 victory in as many European fixtures this season thanks to Daniela Sabatino's goal, the forward flicking Barbara Bonansea's corner in at the near post with two minutes on the clock. Chichi Igbo broke through the Brescia defence and tested Camelia Ceasar after an hour as Fortuna tried to find a route back into the match. Sarah Hansen's effort then stung the palms of Ceasar in the 72nd minute before Nadia Nadim flashed an effort wide. Lisa Alborghetti nearly snatched a second in added time, but her shot narrowly missed the far post.
