UEFA Women's Champions League quarter-finalists Göteborg FC have signed Sweden forward Jessica Landström to replace Tyresö FF-bound Christen Press.

Press, Göteborg's top scorer in 2012, has opted to join the Swedish champions, who will make their European debut in 2013/14. That left a vacancy filled by Landström, scorer of five goals in 12 matches for relegated Djurgårdens IF DFF after her return to Sweden from 1. FFC Frankfurt in the summer.

Landström played in Frankfurt's 2012 UEFA Women's Champions League final defeat by Olympique Lyonnais and will be eligible to be registered for Göteborg's last-eight tie against FCF Juvisy Essonne in March. The 28-year-old has been capped 61 times by UEFA Women's EURO 2013 hosts Sweden, who begin their summer campaign against Denmark in Gothenburg on 10 July.

"You could say that she replaces Press," sports director Lasse Svensson told Göteborgs Posten. "We are still looking for one more player – a forward/midfielder."
