UEFA has issued the following statement:
"The UEFA Emergency Committee, composed of President Michel Platini, vice-presidents Senes Erzik, Geoffrey Thompson, Gerhard Mayer-Vorfelder and Marios Lefkaritis, decided – in line with the decision of FIFA to play the World Cup qualifier between Georgia and Republic of Ireland on neutral ground – that the remaining two qualifying matches of the Georgian Under-21 national team, against Russia and Poland, would have to be played at neutral venues on 5/6 and 9/10 September, due to the current crisis in the Caucasus region."
