New Bosnia-Herzegovina Under-21 coach Ibrahim Zukanovic has vowed to mould the internationals of the future.
Senior backbone
"Our immediate goal is to create a team of players from domestic clubs who can form the backbone of Bosnia's senior side," he said. "This will be a tough task as football in our country is going through a difficult period."
Diary dates
Zukanovic will lead out the U21s for the first time against Yugoslavia on 21 August before facing Denmark, Romania, Norway and Luxembourg in the 2004 UEFA European Under-21 Championship qualifiers. In their first clash, the youngsters face Romania in Mostar on 6 September.
Experienced coach
Zukanovic's playing career began with NK Celik, a club he went on to coach in the 1990s, and he has also coached Bosnian sides NK Krajina and NK Iskra.
