Andreas Cornelius scored the only goal as 2015 UEFA European Under-21 Championship hopefuls Denmark overcame the United States' U23 team in Lyngby.
One of four half-time substitutes, Cornelius made a speedy impression with a goal seven minutes after the restart. Receiving the ball from Yussuf Poulsen with his back to goal, the FC København forward turned his marker before firing in.
The US had gone close themselves moments earlier but Frederik Rønnow made a fine stop and was called upon again several times as the visitors sought an equaliser. He and Denmark held firm.
