UEFA European Under-19 Championship holders Serbia have been matched with the Republic of Ireland, Turkey and Iceland in the elite round draw.

In the draw, made by Jim Boyce, UEFA Youth and Amateur Committee chairman, and 2012/13 Lithuania captain Lukas Artimavičius – who received the Fair Play trophy – Serbia were placed in Group 4, which will be staged by Ireland.

Spain, whose bid for a third straight title was dashed last season just as in 2008, will welcome the nation that won in that latter year, Germany, as well as Denmark and Lithuania. The groups will run between 24 May and 10 June.

Only the section winners will advance to join hosts Hungary in the finals from 19–31 July 2014. The competition will also decide Europe's entries for the 2015 FIFA U-20 World Cup in New Zealand, but France's qualifying round exit means they will not be able to defend their global title there.
