Jann-Fiete Arp scored a 13-minute hat-trick – the fastest in UEFA European Under-17 Championship finals history – as Germany began their 2017 campaign in style, defeating Bosnia and Herzegovina 5-0.
Christian Wück's side were leading the Group C fixture 2-0 when the Hamburg forward took centre stage, putting the result beyond doubt with goals on 50, 51 and 62 minutes in Kostrena.
It was marginally quicker than the 14-minute treble Denmark's Morten Rasmussen managed in 2002. Rasmussen went on to net five in a 6-0 victory over Finland, taking just 21 minutes to do so. Overall, there have been 16 hat-tricks in U17 EURO finals.
