Slaven Bilić, Beşiktaş coach: "If we play as well as we can, we will qualify for the quarter-finals. In the first leg we were not under any pressure until the last 30 minutes – then Club Brugge took control and beat us. This time we will have around 70,000 players at the Atatürk Olimpiyat Stadium – like we did for the Liverpool game in the last round. Those supporters are always behind us, but tomorrow they have to be patient."

Michel Preud'homme, Club Brugge coach: "This season it was very important for us to get through to the group stage, initially – we failed to qualify last season. Having got there we won the group and eliminated Torino in the next round. Now we are aiming to enjoy it and see how far we can go. We wouldn't say we have an advantage: a bit of credit because of the first-leg victory against Beşiktaş's supporters and the atmosphere."

• Gökhan Töre put the Black Eagles in front in the first leg in Belgium, but Tom De Sutter replied and Lior Refaelov's penalty (79) won the game for Club Brugge.

• The first leg result ended Beşiktaş's unbeaten record against Belgian sides (now W2 D2 L1), though they are yet to lose to a Belgian side in Turkey (W2 D1).

• Club Brugge's only previous visit to Turkey ended in a 0-0 draw at Galatasaray AŞ in the 2002/03 UEFA Champions League first group stage.

• One of three sides to have progressed from the third qualifying round to the round of 16 (along with FC Dinamo Moskva and Torino FC), Club Brugge are the only side to have made it this far without losing a game. Their record in 13 UEFA Europa League games this season is W10 D3.

• Club Brugge's Refaelov is one of six players to have scored six UEFA Europa League goals since the start of the group stage; only Alan (FC Salzburg: 8) and Romelu Lukaku (Everton FC: 7) have scored more.

• Beşiktaş forward Demba Ba played in Belgium for R. Excelsior Mouscron from 2006 to 2007. He scored eight goals in 12 league games despite missing much of the campaign with a broken leg.

A rock music fan with a law degree, he was at the FC Lokomotiv Moskva helm before heading to Turkey.

• A goalkeeper for R. Standard de Liège, Mechelen, SL Benfica and Belgium, for whom he earned 58 caps, Michel Preud'homme has been in charge of Club Brugge since September 2013. As a coach, he has claimed league titles in Belgium (Standard, 2007/08) and Saudi Arabia (al-Shabab FC, 2011/12) in addition to the Belgian Cup (KAA Gent, 2009/10) and the Dutch Cup (FC Twente, 2010/11).
