Trabzonspor AŞ prised open the door to the UEFA Europa League round of 32 by edging Legia Warszawa 2-0.
Without a point or goal in Group J, the hosts toiled in vain for large parts of the first half before Dossa Júnior's own goal on 71 minutes compounded their misery. Olcan Adın doubled the advantage shortly after to leave the Turkish hopefuls two points above closest pursuers SS Lazio and six clear of third-placed Apollon Limassol FC.
Legia started brightly, with visiting goalkeeper Onur Kıvrak blocking Michał Kucharczyk's close-range shot. Júnior then headed Tomasz Jodłowiec's pinpoint cross over as half-time approached, and the Cyprus defender also went close to turning in Dominik Furman's free-kick.
Trabzonspor were on the back foot again when Onur turned Tomasz Brzyski's deflected 25-metre effort over. A brisk counterattack, culminating in Júnior putting through his own net, subsequently swung the pendulum in the visitors' favour. Eight minutes later, Florent Malouda beat Brzyski in the air and angled a pass to Olcan, who finished with aplomb from ten metres to end Legia's slim hopes of qualifying for the next round.
