Injury problems
Struggling Kaiserslautern were forced to dip into the transfer market after Ciriaco Sforza and Hany Ramzy suffered long-term injuries. Mettomo, 26, has won 28 caps for Cameroon.
Tchato partnership
Mettomo will join Cameroon colleague Bill Tchato at the club. Kaiserslautern are currently bottom of the Bundesliga with no points from their opening four games. They qualified for this season's UEFA Cup by reaching last season's German Cup final.
