UEFA Cup hopefuls UC Sampdoria have bolstered their squad with the double signing of teenager Fabio Zamblera and Italy Under-18 captain Roberto Soriano

Soriano, who turns 18 on 8 February, joins Sampdoria from FC Bayern München for an undisclosed fee with no details of the midfielder's new contract revealed. The 18-year-old Zamblera, a forward, arrives on loan from Newcastle United FC with the option to make the move permanent at the end of the season. Sampdoria, who will play FC Metalist Kharkiv in the UEFA Cup Round of 32 on 18 and 26 February, have already signed striker Giampaolo Pazzini from ACF Fiorentina as well as defenders Andrea Raggi, Michele Ferri and Manuel Da Costa during the winter transfer window.
