Feyenoord have agreed to bring AZ Alkmaar goalkeeper Henk Timmer back to Rotterdam following his loan spell at De Kuip during the 2001/02 season.

Out of favour
The 34-year-old Timmer, who was in the Netherlands squad at this summer's FIFA World Cup, is leaving AZ after falling out of favour with coach Louis van Gaal and he will join Feyenoord on a two-year deal.

'My club'
Originally with FC Zwolle, he moved to Alkmaar in 2000 and then had season-loan loan spells at both Feyenoord (2001/02) and AFC Ajax (2002/03) before returning to the Alkmaarderhout. "I always said that Feyenoord became my club during my year there. To have the chance to go back is great," said the twice-capped custodian. In all, Timmer made 130 Dutch league appearances for AZ, having been the club's No1 for the last three campaigns.
