The 23-year-old scored two goals in 30 appearances during a similar spell at Reggina Calcio last term, and is looking forward to the challenge ahead in Genoa. "At Milan there is huge competition for places in attack, but the move to Sampdoria is another step forward in my career. I am looking forward to starting the new campaign," he said. Ex-Italian Under-21 international Borriello has also played on loan at Empoli FC in Serie A.
