Panathinaikos FC have signed Portuguese defensive midfield player Chainho for an undisclosed fee from Real Zaragoza in Spain.
One-year contract
The 28-year-old has agreed a one-year contract with an option of a further season with the Greek club. Chainho is well known to new Panathinakos coach Fernando Santos as he played under his fellow countryman for seven seasons during spells at FC Estrela Amadora and FC Porto.
Transfer season over
The signing of Chainho comes on the final day of the summer transfer season in Greece. He links up with fellow new recruits Erik Augustin Lincar and Pantelis Konstantinidis at the OAKA Spiros Louis stadium.
