Article body
Ruptured ligament
The 26-year-old ruptured the lateral ligament in his left ankle, but must wait for an MRI scan to learn if he needs surgery or not. However, the severity of the injury means that Sevilla expect to be without him for more than four weeks.
Panathinaikos match
Jesuli is therefore set to miss the UEFA Cup Round of 32 first-leg tie against Panathinaikos FC on 16 February, and must also be rated doubtful for the return on 24 February. Coach Joaquín Caparrós may draft in 16-year-old Diego Capel from the club's B team as cover.
