Article body
There has been strong global demand for public tickets to the UEFA Europa League final in Warsaw with the ticket application period now past the halfway stage.
The ticket portal opened on 26 February and will close at 12.00CET on Wednesday 25 March. At this point, there have been applications from 91 different countries with the majority of requests coming from Poland – as local fans attempt to see the final of a major UEFA club competition on their home soil for the first time. There is also a high number of applications from neighbouring Germany.
Category 4 in demand
While all categories are experiencing decent demand, the category 4 tickets have had the most requests. The full list of standard ticket categories can be seen below:
Category 1: €130
Category 2: €90
Category 3: €65
Category 4: €40
With demand high, UEFA can confirm that once the application phase has closed, a lottery will be held to determine how the tickets are allocated.
System success
The clear process has made it easy for fans to apply, and the robust new ticketing portal has stood up to the strong demand – especially on the day it opened – which bodes well for when the UEFA EURO 2016 finals ticket portal is launched in the summer.
