Odemwingie, a star of the 2004 African Cup of Nations, joins on a four-year contract from Belgian side RAA Louviéroise, where he has scored twice in four games this season. The 23-year-old is expected to be a direct replacement for Bulgaria striker Vladimir Manchev, who left Lille for Spanish club Levante UD last month. Lille will play Shelbourne FC of the Republic of Ireland in the UEFA Cup first round.
