Dual nationality
The 31-year-old has been a mainstay for Valladolid since arriving in Spain from Colombia's Independiente Santa Fe in 1995. Due to the length of time he has spent in Spain he is now eligible for dual nationality meaning he will be counted as an EU player.
Friday presentation
Peña will undergo a medical on Friday, when Villarreal will learn their UEFA Cup first-round opponents. He arrives in time for Monday's derby against Valencia CF which heralds the start of Villarreal's league season.
