Promising career
The 24-year-old has been with Legia since 1999, having previously played for lower division sides MKS Pogon Siedlce and Dolcan Zabki. Boruc made his debut for his country in an April friendly against the Republic of Ireland and has won three caps. He is set to be a part of their 2006 FIFA World Cup qualifying campaign but faces competition from established No1 Jerzy Dudek.
European experience
Boruc, whose original contract was due to expire in 2007, showed plenty of promise in the 2003/04 season, even scoring a penalty in the 6-0 victory against SPN Widzew Lódz in June. Legia, who finished second in the Ekstraklasa, defend a 1-0 lead in the home second leg of their UEFA Cup qualifying game against FC Tbilisi tonight.
