Bulgarian coach Atanas Marinov has taken charge of Maltese UEFA Cup challengers Marsaxlokk FC.
Two-year deal
The coach, whose last job on the island was an ill-starred spell at Valletta FC which ended with his resignation last May, has agreed a two-year deal with his new club and has already led his first training session as he aims to prepare his side for their UEFA Cup first qualifying round tie against Slovenia's NK Primorje.
Maltese experience
Marinov first came to Malta seven years ago, leading Saint Patrick FC for three years and winning them promotion to the Maltese Premier League in 1997/98 before moving on to Birkirkara FC where he won the club their first league title in 1999/00. He subsequently joined Hamrun Spartans FC in 2001/02, staying for two seasons.
