Eintracht Frankfurt have added to their squad ahead of the club's first European campaign since 2006/07 with the signing of Filipino international Stephan Schröck from TSG 1899 Hoffenheim.
The German-born midfielder, 26, has agreed a two-year deal with the team who last season finished sixth in the Bundesliga. The transfer fee was undisclosed. Schröck leaves Hoffenheim after a single campaign in which he made ten top-flight appearances, having previously spent the whole of his career with SpVgg Greuther Fürth and featured in 183 league games.
Eintracht coach Armin Veh said: "We were interested in Stephan Schröck last year because of his versatility. We are pleased that a deal has been made."
Schröck's arrival follows that of defender Marco Russ, who rejoined the Eagles on a permanent basis on Wednesday from VfL Wolfsburg. Russ spent the second half of last term on loan with the Hessen side, where he came through the youth ranks, featuring times in the Bundesliga. Eintracht enter the UEFA Europa League at the play-off stage.
