Galatasaray AŞ have shown their fath in Milan Baroš by handing the Czech international striker a two-year contract extension.
Baroš's original deal was due to expire at the end of the upcoming campaign but he has now put pen to paper on new terms which tie him to the club until June 2013. Injury limited the 28-year-old to just 17 Turkish Super League games last term, but he still added 11 goals to take his tally for Galatasaray to 31 in 48 league appearances.
He was out for nearly five months with a broken foot sustained against Fenerbahçe SK in October and has now been sidelined once again having picked up an injury in pre-season. Baroš will hope to be fit in time for his side's UEFA Europa League play-off contest with Ukrainian outfit FC Karpaty Lviv, the first leg of which takes place in Istanbul on 19 August. One player set to miss that tie is summer signing Juan Pablo Pino, who is expected to be out for a month after tearing thigh ligaments against OFK Beograd last Thursday.
