The Croatian club's chairman, Davor Darabos, said: "We are not satisfied with the results and after we lost against Debrecen we felt we need to give the team a lift by changing the coach."

Varteks have placed Drazen Jansek in temporary charge. Bezek said: "I am not surprised, many people in the club didn't like me and this is result of that feelings."
