Latvia will look to secure a first home win in Group F as they take on the section's bottom side, Malta, in their penultimate UEFA EURO 2012 qualifier.
• Goals from Kaspars Gorkšs and Maris Verpakovskis secured Latvia a comfortable victory against Malta when the sides first met in Group F on 7 September 2010.
• Latvia's record in four games against Malta reads W2 D0 L2 (W1 D0 L0 at home).
• The teams made their initial introductions on Maltese soil on 26 May 1992, when the hosts triumphed 1-0 in Ta' Qali. Malta also came out on top on 8 February 1998, edging a 2-1 victory at the same venue.
• Between those two matches, Latvia claimed a 2-0 victory against Malta in Riga on 2 June 1994.
