Bendtner scores twice as Denmark win in Serbia

Denmark recorded their second victory in UEFA EURO 2016 qualifying Group I by coming from a goal down at the break to win in Serbia.

An inspired second-half performance in Belgrade earned the 1992 European champions the points, Serbia having taken an early lead through Zoran Tošic. After being sent clean through by a neat touch from Nemanja Gudelj, the PFC CSKA Moskva man made no mistake with only Kasper Schmeichel to beat.

Schmeichel, however, prevented Serbia from quickly doubling their advantage, producing a classy save to keep out Danko Lazović's bicycle kick.

Morten Olsen's men gradually found their feet as the match progressed and they eventually equalised on the hour, Bendtner following up to score after Vladimir Stojković parried a 25-metre shot from Christian Eriksen.

Denmark swiftly stunned Serbia with a second goal when centre-back Simon Kjær got the better of his marker at the back post and powerfully headed in Eriksen's free-kick. Bendtner completed the scoring five minutes from time, finishing off a counterattack and precise cross by Michael Krohn-Dehli.
