Striker Emir Kujovic, who won the Allsvenskan with Norrköping and finished as the Swedish top flight's leading scorer earlier this week, has been called up to the Sweden senior side for the first time ahead of this month's UEFA EURO 2016 play-off against Denmark.
"I'm excited to see him, he has done very well and has matured," Sweden coach Erik Hamrén said of the 27-year-old Kujovic, who has four Under-21 caps to his name and struck 21 league goals this season. "Denmark are ten places above us in the world rankings and they have won the most recent matches between us, but my feeling is that this is our time now."
Sweden will be without influential midfielder Albin Ekdal because of an injury picked up on club duty with Hamburg. Oscar Lewicki is available, however, having recovered from the concussion which forced him off during Malmö's UEFA Champions League defeat by Shakhtar Donetsk on Tuesday.
